Remnant Locator is built for stone fabrication shops. We try to keep what we collect to what the product actually needs — and to be straight with you about it. This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it, and what choices you have.
01 Who we are
Remnant Locator is operated by Granite Resource Group LLC ("we", "us"), based in Canby, Oregon. The service is delivered through the Remnant Locator mobile and web app (the "Service") and the website at remfind.com.

02 What we collect
Information you give us
- Shop account — shop name, business address or zip code, phone number, business email.
- User account — your name, email, phone number, password, and the shop you belong to.
- Listings and requests — stone type, dimensions, photos, notes, and any other content you post.
- Messages — the contents of in-app messages you exchange with other shops.
- Billing — payment details are collected and stored by our payment processor (Stripe). We receive a token, the last four digits of the card, and billing status — not the full card number.
Information we collect automatically
- Device and app data — device model, OS version, app version, language, crash logs, and basic diagnostics.
- Usage data — pages viewed, features used, requests posted, approximate time of activity.
- Approximate location — derived from the zip code on your shop profile. We use this to calculate distance between shops. We do not collect precise GPS location.
- Push tokens — if you enable notifications, we store a device token so we can send pushes about new requests and messages.
03 How we use it
- Run the Service — show requests to shops in range, deliver messages, send push notifications.
- Bill your subscription and process the 30-day free trial.
- Support you when you write in.
- Investigate abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms.
- Improve the Service — diagnose bugs, measure feature use, plan what to build next.
- Send service-related email (billing, security, important changes). We don't send marketing email without your opt-in.
04 What other shops see
This is the part that matters most to most users, so we're spelling it out.
- When you post a request, nearby shops see your shop name, approximate distance, and the contents of the request.
- Your direct phone number and email are not shared until you choose to share them in a message thread.
- When a shop responds, an in-app message thread opens. Messages are visible to all members of both shops.
- Internal shop comments are visible only to members of your own shop.
05 Who we share data with
We don't sell your data. We share it only with vendors that help us run the Service, and only what they need:
- Hosting and infrastructure — cloud providers that run our servers and database.
- Payments — Stripe, for subscription billing.
- Email and push delivery — providers that deliver transactional email and push notifications.
- Analytics and crash reporting — to understand product usage and fix bugs.
- Legal — if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.
- Business transfer — if Remnant Locator is acquired, merged, or sold, your information may transfer to the new owner under this same policy.
06 How long we keep it
We keep account data for as long as your shop has an active account. Requests auto-expire after five days but remain in your shop's history. Messages stay for the life of the account. When you close your account, we delete or de-identify your data within 90 days, except where we're required to retain it (for example, billing records for tax purposes).
07 Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Access to production data is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfect — if we ever suffer a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by law.
08 Your choices
- Access and correction — most account data can be edited inside the app. For anything you can't change yourself, email us.
- Deletion — you can request deletion of your user account or your shop by emailing support@remfind.com. Shop owners can also close the shop from the app.
- Push notifications — turn off in your device settings. The Service still works without them.
- Marketing email — we don't send any without your opt-in. Service email (billing, security) can't be opted out of while you have an account.
09 Children
Remnant Locator is a tool for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10 US-based service
Remnant Locator is operated from the United States and intended for users in the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, you understand your data will be processed in the US.
11 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. If we make a material change, we'll notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.
